An employee in the US State Department is censuring US President Joe Biden for his complicity in the Israeli occupation's genocide in Gaza, as dissent for the Biden administration's policies grows.

A junior employee in the US State Department is acknowledging that President Joe Biden is complicit in the genocide being perpetrated against the people of Gaza, while also accusing him of being an accomplice, Axios reported, as the Biden administration continues to peddle pro-Israeli propaganda and refuses to condemn their close ally for the mass murder of innocent Palestinian civilians.

Blinken has so far made two trips to "Tel Aviv" in less than a month, as the aggression against Palestinians continues to mount. The US is still funneling weapons for the occupation forces to use against the people of Gaza, and has also sent two aircraft carriers to the Eastern Mediterranean, which is evidence of its unconditional support to the occupation government that has murdered close to 5,000 children since October 7.

Sylvia Yacoub, a foreign affairs officer in the Bureau of Middle East Affairs, sent Thursday an email to gather signatures for a dissent cable on the White House's policy on the Israeli occupation. She has also used social media to accuse the US President, dubbed as "genocide Joe," of being an accomplice in the Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people.

Dissent cables are designed to allow diplomats to highlight policy errors being committed by their administration; that, besides resignation, serves as a means of protest against the administration's foreign policy.

The cables are meant to stay within the bounds of the department, with senior officials being especially vigilant to prevent them from coming out. Employees are told that signing or drafting one would allegedly not affect their careers.

Growing dissent

In light of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, "the ensuing response by the Government of Israel, and the seemingly full endorsement by the U.S. government to the response, we have drafted a dissent cable calling for a significant change in the Administration's short and long-term policy surround the conflict and path towards regional integration and security," Yacoub wrote, according to Axios, which has obtained a copy of the cable.

While Yacoub did not have any poignant wording in the cable, her social media posts more than expressed her view of the US support for the Israeli occupation.

"You are providing significantly more military assistance to the government that is indiscriminately attacking innocent Gazans….you are complicit in genocide [President Biden]," she said on X on Thursday in response to an explainer from the President as to why he was asking Congress for more money to support "Israel".

'Embarrassingly out of touch'

Yacoub also responded to Vice President Kamala Harris after she met with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, by saying she was "embarrassingly out of touch" as Harris and the premier had discussed "our support for Israel's right to defend itself and the urgent need to increase the flow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza."

The White House's policy on the Israeli occupation has been met with condemnations from US officials throughout the aggression on Gaza, with State Department employee Josh Paul resigning earlier in October due to "a policy disagreement concerning our continued lethal assistance to Israel," as per a post he made on LinkedIn.

Paul, who had worked for more than a decade in the State Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs under four different administrations, reports that he had experienced unprecedented resistance from the State Department against considering the humanitarian consequences of arms sales.
