Iraqi group Ahrar Sinjar has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Turkish base in Iraq.
Iraqi media outlets reported on Sunday that Turkey's military base in northern Iraq was attacked by drones.
According to the Iraqi group Sabereen, more than four drones attacked the Turkish base in Bashiqa, which is located to the north of the city of Mosul, where Turkish troops are stationed.
Iraqi group Ahrar Sinjar claimed responsibility for the attack, with reports claiming that upward of six suicide drones were used against the base.
Two Turkish warplanes had bombed an Iraqi village on Saturday killing three Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) members, as well as two other civilians as a result of the bombing, according to Al Mayadeen's correspondent.
Turkey had launched a cross-border military offensive against PKK militants in northern Iraq in an operation that was officially announced on April 18. The operation drew condemnation from Iraq, with the presidency saying that Ankara's operation "poses a threat" to Iraqi national security.
