Turkey shells al-Hasakah, Qamishli residents expel US patrols
The Turkish shelling of al-Hasakah, Syria, harmed electrical feed lines and caused the displacement of villagers.
The western and northwestern countryside of al-Hasakah witnessed a new wave of artillery and missile shelling carried out by the Turkish army and its loyal factions, causing material damage and displacing several families who've run toward safer villages.
The Turkish army shelled towns within the zone of Abu Rasin and Tal Tamr districts in northwestern al-Hasakah, with several electrical feed lines out of service due to the targeting.
Sources on the field told Al Mayadeen that the bombing targeted the villages of Khirbet Shair, Qabr al-Gharajneh, and al-Abbush in the countryside of Abu Rasin district, in addition to al-Dardara, Tal Shanan, and Tal Jumaa in the Tal Tamr countryside, which led to material damage.
A source working for al-Hasakah Electricity Company confirmed to Al Mayadeen that this afternoon, "a number of shells fell in the vicinity of the Tal Tamr power transmission station by the Turkish occupier, causing minor damages to oil tanks, and cutting off some lines in the station yard," pointing out that the maintenance has begun repairing the damage.
"Elements of SDF set several rockets and mortar launchers between the villages of al-Aghibish and Khirbet Qaraj, and targeted a number of sites of the [Syrian] National Army, which called for a response to the sources of fire," the Syrian Arab Army said in a statement.
A number of residents of the villages of Farfara and al-Rahiya in the Qamishli countryside, which are under the control of the Syrian army, prevented US patrol vehicles from crossing into their villages, forcing them to change their course towards areas controlled by the SDF.
