Turkish attack on Al-Hasakah takes 3 lives
Turkish forces target villages in the northern countryside of Al-Hasakah, causing civilian casualties and dozens of families displaced.
Three Syrians, including a woman and a child, were killed Thursday and others were wounded after the Turkish forces' artillery bombarded the village of Al-Asadiya and the town of Abu Rasin in the northern countryside of Al-Hasakah.
SANA news agency quoted local sources as saying that the Turkish forces and militants targeted several villages in the northwestern countryside, which led to significant damage to homes, public, and private properties and facilities.
The news agency reported that the villages of Abu Rasin and Tal Tamer districts in the northwestern countryside of Al-Hasakah "witnessed displacement of hundreds of families" in light of the Turkish attack.
In a statement to SANA, Ibrahim Khalaf, Director of the Social Affairs and Labour Department in Al-Hasakah, said that the department has "sent monitoring teams to the areas that have been affected by the attacks to inspect the needs of families and secure the shelter necessities.”
Since the attack, Al-Hasakah has hosted 150 families in shelters, while the number of families that sought refuge in the safe villages surrounding the areas of the attack reached 1,491 families, mentioned Khalaf.
The Turkish attacks have claimed the lives of civilians and displaced hundreds of families from their homes during the past months.
The latest of these attacks was about a week ago when the vicinity of the town of Abu Rasin was targeted.
