Turkish shelling targets villages in northern Aleppo - Syria
The Turkish artillery at the military base south of Afrin shells villages and towns in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
Al Mayadeen correspondent in Aleppo reported Tuesday that Turkish artillery at the military base south of Afrin shelled villages and towns in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
Our correspondent added that the Turkish shelling targeted 10 villages with about 200 artillery and missiles.
In addition, the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated today that "terrorist groups in the Al-Nusra Front renewed their attacks in the de-escalation zone, and shelled safe areas in the countryside of Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama in the past 24 hours."
It is noteworthy that informed sources told Al Mayadeen, on Monday evening, that the Syrian army had reinforced its military centers in the city of Ain Issa in the northern countryside of Raqqa, which is under the control of the "SDF".
Furthermore, Al Mayadeen sources indicated earlier yesterday that the Russian army has increased the number of its forces to about a third since Turkey announced its threats to launch a new military offensive in northern Syria, and the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

On May 23, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that "the Turkish army intends to carry out anti-terror military operations at the Turkish state borders," noting that "the decision on these operations will be taken soon."
Commenting on this, the Russian envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, said the possible Turkish military operation in northern Syria would create "new security threats" to Turkey.
