The Lebanese army announced the martyrdom of two of its soldiers and the injury of others when an Israeli airstrike directly targeted an army post in the town of al-Mari, located in the Hasbayya district.

In a statement, the army confirmed, "The Israeli enemy directly struck an army center in al-Mari-Hasbayya, resulting in the martyrdom of two soldiers and the injury of others, one of whom is in critical condition."

In a post on X, Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced the martyrdom of the two soldiers, confirming that the number of army martyrs has risen to 36.

Since the escalation of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon last September, the Lebanese army has faced numerous direct Israeli attacks, targeting both its vehicles and the positions of its soldiers. These assaults have led to several martyrs and injuries among army personnel.

Three soldiers killed amid humanitarian duty

Similarly, last month, three Lebanese soldiers, including an officer, were killed after the Israeli military targeted them on the outskirts of Yater-Bint Jbeil, while they were carrying out their humanitarian duty and evacuating civilians injured in the Israeli aggression, the Lebanese Army announced on October 24.

Earlier the same month, the Lebanese Army announced on October 11 that two of its soldiers were killed and three others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a military position in the town of Kafra, South Lebanon.
