Ukraine: Humanitarian corridors opened in a number of cities
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister confirms the opening of humanitarian corridors in five Ukrainian cities.
Ukraine's deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk announced that humanitarian corridors have been opened in a number of Ukrainian cities most notably Enerhodar and Mariupol to Zaporizhia, from Sumy to Poltava, not to mention other Ukrainian cities.
Enerhodar's head had announced earlier that a humanitarian corridor would be opened on Wednesday to evacuate the city's residents to Zaporizhia. Bucha authorities also said today that residents of the city, and of Vorzel would be evacuated to Kiev.
"From 09:00 [local time, 07:00 GMT], a ceasefire will be introduced on the following routes: Enerhodar - Zaporizhia, Sumy - Poltava, Izyum - Lozova, Mariupol - Zaporizhia, Volnovakha - Pokrovsk, Vorzel, Borodyanka, Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel (Kiev region) - Kiev," Vereshchuk told reporters.
Moreover, 55 children are to be evacuated from Vorzel's orphanage, the Deputy Prime Minister added.
Russia and Ukraine's delegations to the talks in Belarus had reached an understanding last Thursday on humanitarian corridors and a ceasefire during evacuations, an adviser to the head of Zelensky's office.
He also added that the parties also discussed a temporary ceasefire in areas where evacuations will be held.
The chief of the Russian National Defense Management Center, Mikhail Mizintsev, revealed on Monday that Kiev agreed to open humanitarian corridors, excluding those directed towards Russia and Belarus.
Ukraine had not fulfilled a single condition for humanitarian corridors at the time, according to Mizintsev.
