Aleida Guevara arrives in Beirut in solidarity with Al Mayadeen
Revolutionary leader Ernesto Che Guevara’s daughter, Aleida Guevara, arrived in Beirut on Monday, in solidarity with Al Mayadeen Media Network after it was banned from occupied Palestine, and following the Israeli murder of the three martyrs, reporter Farah Omar and photographer Rabih Maamari and their local guide Hussein Akil.
Guevara attended the memorial council that was held on Tuesday in honor of Al Mayadeen's martyrs during which she delivered a speech.
It is worth noting that Al Mayadeen's correspondent in South Lebanon, Farah Omar, alongside photojournalist Rabih Me'mari, were martyred on November 21 by an Israeli drone that deliberately targeted them.
Our beloved colleagues consistently reported on Israeli atrocities in southern Lebanon despite Israeli threats. These two journalists were united in a bond forged by their dedication, bravery, and, ultimately, their sacrifice.
They have ascended as two new martyrs, true heroes, performing their journalistic duties to expose the Israeli occupation's crimes during the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.
Simultaneously, numerous Arab, Lebanese, and International figures expressed their solidarity with Al Mayadeen and denounced the Israeli killing of our colleagues.
