US 'world's only superpower', Biden says amid declining popularity
Despite its well-documented Police crackdown on pro-Palestine protests at US universities, US President Joe Biden says that the US is the "leading democracy" in the world.
US President Joe Biden told US Military Academy graduates at West Point, New York, on May 25 that he thinks the US is the "world’s only superpower" and "leading democracy," praising the role of the US military in "standing up to tyrants" worldwide and "protecting freedom and openness."
The 81-year-old president, labeled by US pro-Palestine protesters as "Genocide Joe" in the past months, said, "Thanks to the US Armed Forces, we’re doing what only America can do as the indispensable nation, the world’s only superpower, and the leading democracy in the world."
"Never forget: America is the strongest when we lead not only by our example of our power but by the power of our example. You can clap for that," Biden added.
The US President emphasized Washington's commitment to support allies around the world, giving a special mention to Ukraine, currently in a tough position on the frontline with its ongoing conflict with Russia, and "Israel", whose prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and security minister Yoav Gallant were recently slapped with arrest warrant applications by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Biden calls Putin 'brutal tyrant', vows open-ended support for Ukraine
Biden also called Russian President Vladimir Putin a "brutal tyrant," vowing that the United States "will not walk away" from supporting Ukraine.
His statement came as Russian forces are making ground gains across the front line, especially in the Kharkiv region.
Biden claimed that there were "no American soldiers in the war in Ukraine" and that he is "determined to keep it that way."
"But we are standing strong with Ukraine and we will stand with them. We're standing against a man whom I've known well for many years, a brutal tyrant. We may not, we will not walk away," he continued.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has intensified its strikes deep into Russia using Western-provided weapons, with the NATO chief calling Kiev's allies to allow Kiev to use supplied weapons without restrictions in a recent address.
Joe Biden, who has been getting criticized for the US Police crackdown on students protesting at US universities in support of Gaza, has continuously made negative remarks against the Russian President even labeling him as a "dictator."
