US Ain al-Assad base in Iraq targeted by drones
Iraq's Resistance expands its targeting scope in light of the continued Israeli aggression against Gaza for the 112th day.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported today that the US Ain al-Assad base in western Iraq, was targeted with drones.
Yesterday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced that it had targeted American forces in Ain al-Assad and near Erbil Airport, and the two separate attacks were also carried out by drones. It also confirmed that Ashdod port was targeted by drones yesterday.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq continues to target American bases in Syria and Iraq, stressing that the operations are “a continuation of resisting the American occupation in Iraq and the region, and in response to the massacres of the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip.”
The Resistance expanded its targeting scope in light of the continued Israeli aggression against Gaza, carrying out its operations against targets in occupied Palestine.
The Secretary-General of Iraqi Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, Abu Alaa al-Walai confirmed that the resistance has entered the second phase of its operations, which “ensures the imposition of the blockade on Zionist maritime navigation in the Mediterranean Sea and putting the entity’s ports out of service.”
US strikes Iraqi Resistance sites in al-Qaim, Jurf al-Nasr
The al-Jazira Operations Command in the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) confirmed Wednesday that one of its Resistance fighters was martyred in a US attack that targeted the al-Qaim, west of Anbar, while a training facility was subjected to material damage in Jurf al-Nasr.
Earlier, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin confirmed on Tuesday that US military forces carried out, at President Joe Biden’s direction, what he called "necessary and proportionate" strikes on three Kataib Hezbollah and other Iraqi Resistance groups facilities in Iraq.
"These precision strikes are in direct response to a series of escalatory attacks against U.S. and Coalition personnel in Iraq and Syria," Austin mentioned in a release.
"We do not seek to escalate conflict in the region," but "are fully prepared to take further measures to protect our people and our facilities," the US defense chief added.
US Central Command claimed the strikes targeted Kataib Hezbollah "headquarters, storage, and training locations for rocket, missile, and one-way attack UAV (drone) capabilities."
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Rasool warned that the Iraqi Armed Forces "will consider these operations as a foreign aggression that will be dealt with accordingly to safeguard Iraqis' lives and their dignity in their safe homeland."
