US complicit in murder of al-Maghazi camp mayor: Gaza media office
Authorities ruled the assassination Al-Maghazi camp's mayor Hatem Saleh al-Ghamri as a war crime and a violation of international law.
Gaza's media office on Tuesday condemned the murder of al-Maghazi camp's mayor in the central Gaza Strip and blamed the US for its complicity in Israeli war crimes.
Al-Maghazi camp's mayor Hatem Saleh al-Ghamri was martyred on Monday by an Israeli airstrike that targeted a council building within the camp. Gazan authorities said his assassination is intended to create absolute chaos and exacerbate the sufferings of besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
"We are mourning the loss of Ghamri, who used to work tirelessly to serve Palestinians in al-Maghazi camp ever since he was appointed to the post, and was busy offering services to the camp residents throughout the occupying regime’s genocidal war on Gaza. Late Ghamri was a sincere and loyal official to his homeland and nation," a statement by the media office read.
"The occupying regime’s army brutally and directly assassinated the mayor of al-Maghazi camp and a group of civilians by bombing the council building affiliated to the municipalities of the central governorates of Gaza," it added.

Authorities ruled the assassination as a war crime and a violation of international law, according to which the immunity and protection of civilians is essential.
"This crime marks a new chapter in the occupying regime’s brutal killings against Palestinian people, which is carried out in a deliberate and pre-planned manner. All relevant institutions and municipalities in the world are asked to condemn this heinous crime; A crime that shows the level of insanity and criminality that the occupying regime has reached," the statement read.
Gazan authorities held the US responsible for this crime and stressed its complicity in giving the green light for the Israeli regime to continue its genocidal campaign in the Gaza Strip.
According to the latest estimates from the Health Ministry, the number of martyrs since October 7 rose to 33,175, while the number of injured rose to 75,886.
