US, Israeli Security Chiefs Discuss Ways to Address Iran's Nuclear Program
The US and Israeli Security Chiefs agreed to meet soon to discuss strategic issues and military cooperation.
Israeli Security Minister Benjamin Gantz disclosed that he spoke with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, in a phone call that aimed to coordinate efforts to address Iran's nuclear progress.
"I had an important discussion with my friend and partner Austin about US-Israel coordination vis-à-vis Iranian regional entrenchment and nuclear aspirations," Gantz Tweeted on Tuesday.
Gantz also detailed that he and Austin agreed to meet soon to discuss strategic issues and military cooperation.
In a separate press statement, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby stated that Austin reaffirmed the US' commitment to working together to address security challenges in the Middle East.
On Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh divulged that Tehran will announce the date for the resumption of the Vienna-hosted talks this week after consulting with all parties of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
According to the Biden administration, a deal to resurrect the 2015 nuclear agreement could be reached quickly.
