US ruined its reputation through Gaza genocide: Marandi
Iranian scholar Mohammad Marandi depicts the shifting image of the US as it continues funding Israeli war crimes in Gaza.
After doctors who had visited Gaza relayed the "appalling atrocities" witnessed on the ground, specifically in the medical field, scholars and experts began echoing what the world says about the United States and its complicity in the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
Mohammad Marandi, a professor of English literature and Orientalism at the University of Tehran, and a former advisor to the Iranian negotiating team in the Vienna Talks, said Americans are undermining the damage their country's reputation is experiencing, in a talk with Sputnik. The whole world, according to Marandi, sees the genocide in Gaza as a "US genocide, not just an Israeli one".
He referred to A People’s History of the United States, a book by Howard Zinn that paints the US in a way that contrasts with the glorified nationalist image generally portrayed, and said amid the genocide, the US is revealing what it is carrying out in Gaza as never seen before.
Marandi also speculated that this could be the primary reason the US has been insistently trying to ban TikTok.
On the halt of Canadian arms to "Israel", Marandi stated that this comes with the shift of public opinion on Gaza, however, it does not realistically change anything. He said the Canadian government does not inherently care about the lives of Palestinians, or else it would have taken a much tougher approach.
It is worth noting that Israeli media revealed that while Canada refrains from selling complete weapons systems and ammunition to the Israeli occupation, it does supply these weapons' crucial parts.
Moreover, Marandi also revealed that China will probably not invest in "Israel" after seeing its crimes in Gaza, noting that public opinion has drastically changed on the occupation.

'Israel' and the US destroyed their own reputations
Marandi also showed a contrast in attitudes, as the US imposed sanctions on Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, and many more, while sparing "Israel", its economy, and international activities such as participating in the Olympics, unlike Russia which was prohibited from partaking in the international competition.
"No one takes this seriously. And, of course, the bulk of the weapons come from the United States anyway."
According to Marandi, the Israeli occupation, by executing its destructive genocide in Gaza, has launched its own destruction. “I believe that the Israelis have made a fatal mistake and that what they’ve done in Gaza will be the beginning of the end of the Zionist project,” he told Sputnik, adding that it has unveiled its reality and showed the world that it is not a democracy.
"All that is gone now and across the board the regime is despised and the image of the United States has been destroyed."
'Israel' truly alone
The Economist's newest cover, issued Thursday, featured an Israeli flag, fluttering alone, which was the point of discussion for Israeli military affairs analyst Alon Ben David on Channel 13.
Ben David provided insights into the potential repercussions of the disruption of the supply chain of armaments on the Israeli occupation's invasion of Gaza.

Ben David lamented the stark reality depicted on the cover, noting the loss of many former friendly nations. While affirming that American arms shipments remain unaffected for now, he underscored emerging concerns regarding other key allies.
Ben David cautioned that the primary issue stems from viewing these developments as indications of broader international shifts that do not favor "Israel" all too much. He warned that if left unchecked, such actions could prompt other nations to follow suit, exacerbating the Israeli occupation's isolation in the global arms market.
