Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei reaffirmed on Sunday that "the steel shield of unity among the people, officials, and armed forces must remain unbroken."
Sayyed Khamenei delivered the remarks during a mourning ceremony marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza. The ceremony was held at the Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah in Tehran, where he addressed a large gathering of mourners.
The Iranian leader underscored the importance of supporting "the country’s servants, especially the active and diligent president."
He declared that the Iranian people "stand firm against the United States’ humiliating demand for submission," adding that Iran’s adversaries "have learned through resistance, national unity, and enduring harsh military defeats that neither the Iranian people nor the Islamic Republic can be forced to bow through war."

Sayyed Khamenei warned that Iran’s enemies are now seeking to "achieve their goals by sowing internal divisions,” stressing that "all citizens, officials, and opinion leaders must preserve and strengthen the sacred and powerful shield of national unity.”
'The problem with Washington is irreconcilable'
The Iranian Leader stressed that "the problem with Washington cannot be solved because it seeks to impose its will on Iran,” emphasizing that those advocating direct negotiations with the United States are only focusing on surface appearances.”
He noted that previous US administrations had concealed their hostility under pretexts such as human rights, counterterrorism, and democracy. However, "the man in power today has revealed the truth by openly stating that the US confronts Iran to force it into submission.”
Earlier, the Iranian leader outlined key responsibilities for different sectors of Iranian society, stressing that preserving national unity and revolutionary zeal is a duty for all, particularly the youth. He said upholding the nation’s dignity is an obligation for public figures, while religious scholars are tasked with spiritual guidance, inspiring patience, and fostering resilience.
Meanwhile, he emphasized, scientific elites must drive progress in technology, military leaders must ensure national security and independence, and government bodies must pursue their duties with seriousness and efficiency.
On the Palestinian issue, Sayyed Khamenei stated that "the Zionist entity is now the most detested regime in the world, unprecedented in history for killing starving and thirsty children.” He stressed that "all channels of support to this entity must be severed,” praising the "brave people of Yemen” for taking the right stand against Israeli crimes.
"There is no alternative but to completely block all avenues of assistance to them from every direction,” he concluded, affirming that "the Islamic Republic stands fully prepared to do whatever is necessary.”
