US Tanf occupation base on high alert over Iraqi Resistance operations
The US occupation base al-Tanf in Homs has been on high alert for days over concerns of an attack from the Iraqi Resistance on its forces.
Field sources confirmed Friday to Al Mayadeen that "US forces stationed at the al-Tanf base, located at the Syria-Jordan-Iraq border triangle, have brought in additional weapons and equipment to the base to strengthen it and install more specialized air defense systems."
The sources explained that the reinforcements aim to achieve two objectives: first, to protect the base from potential attacks by the Resistance, which has carried out around six attacks on US bases in Syria over the past week, and second, to assist the Israeli occupation in mitigating the increasing attacks by Iraqi resistance forces in the region.
The sources added that "the US side has already begun activating surveillance devices designed to monitor drones, with the aim of intercepting them before they cross southern Syria toward the occupied Golan Heights." This comes in response to the increasing operations by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq against US targets in Syria and Israeli targets in the occupied Palestinian territories, which recently killed two soldiers.
The sources suggested that "Israel likely requested Washington's intervention to reduce the impact of drone attacks from Iraq and attempt to completely halt their activity."
For the past two days, the US base in the al-Tanf region has been on heightened alert, both on the ground and in the air, with ground patrols conducted in the 55-kilometer zone. It is believed that additional thermal cameras have been installed to enhance monitoring systems in the area.
The heightened alert also aimed to track a drone launched from inside Iraqi territory toward the occupied Golan Heights, but US forces were unable to intercept it. The drone successfully evaded the 55-kilometer zone and the al-Tanf base, reaching its target without interception.
World to lose 12 mln barrels per day if energy war erupts: Al-Askari
This comes as the head of the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades Security Bureau warned that the Iraqi Resistance's response to any targeting of the country or use of its territory or airspace to strike Iran will not be limited to "Israel" but will extend to US bases and interests in Iraq and the region.
Abu Ali al-Askari indicated that the Iraqi Resistance will not start a war that involves the energy sector, but if it does break out, the world will lose 12 million barrels per day, "and this is what we will make sure of," he made it clear.
"This is what we will be taking care of, but only God knows what our brethren in Yemen will do in Bab al-Mandab and our brethren in Iran will do in the Strait of Hormuz," he further warned.
Numerous operations against 'Israel'
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced yesterday four operations its fighters carried out against Israeli targets in the occupied territories.
The Iraqi Resistance said the operations were "in continuation of our commitment to resisting the occupation, in support of our brothers in Palestine and Lebanon, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against civilians, including children, women, and the elderly."
In the first operation, the Islamic Resistance said it attacked at dawn Thursday a vital target in the north of occupied Palestine using drones.
It later confirmed that its fighters launched a second drone attack on a vital target in the North. A picture of Hezbollah's assassinated chief martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was featured in the footage documenting the operation.
Moreover, the Iraqi Resistance mentioned that it attacked a vital target in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, also using drones.
Its latest attack announced on Friday dawn, attacked for the second day in a row vital Israeli targets in occupied Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat), in southern occupied Palestine.
In all of its statements, the Islamic Resistance affirmed that it will continue to "strike at the enemy's strongholds with increasing intensity."
Since the onset of the Israeli war on Gaza, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has been engaged in the support front for the Palestinian people and their Resistance, so far launching numerous rocket and drone attacks on Israeli targets in occupied territories.
