In a press briefing on Monday, Sean Parnell, the Pentagon's chief spokesperson and Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, announced that the United States is prepared to employ "overwhelming lethal force" against the Ansar Allah movement until its objectives are met.
Parnell stressed that the US is not pursuing regime change in the Middle East but is instead committed to safeguarding its national interests. "We will use overwhelming lethal force until we have achieved our objective [in Yemen]," he stated, reflecting the seriousness of the US approach to the conflict.
The Yemeni Resistance, which controls much of northern Yemen, has recently imposed a naval blockade on Israeli or "Israel"-bound ships in the Red Sea, citing solidarity with the Palestinian people and the Gaza Strip. The blockade was expanded to include American vessels following US military actions against Yemen. The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) stated that the move is in support of Gaza and the Palestinian Resistance, particularly while humanitarian aid remains blocked from entering the besieged territory.
As a result, the country has been subjected to a wave of aggression on the part of the US-UK naval coalition. The coalition has carried out a series of airstrikes and naval operations targeting key infrastructure and strategic locations, including the recent attacks on the al-Arj area in the Bajil district and an iron factory in the al-Salif district of Hodeidah province.

In a speech on Sunday, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of the Ansar Allah movement, warned the US, saying, "If your aggression on our country continues, we will take other escalatory steps, and our people will move in a comprehensive and wide manner." His remarks were echoed during a massive million-strong march in Yemen on Monday, where demonstrators rallied under the banner, "Steadfast with Gaza, confronting American escalation with escalation."
The march organizers reaffirmed Yemen's support for Gaza, stating, "We pride ourselves on our leader's decision to impose a four-day deadline for humanitarian aid entries into Gaza before imposing the siege on the occupation's vessels." They also criticized other nations for abandoning Gaza, declaring, "We refuse to be included in the nation's 'foam of the flood', which abandoned its kin to die of starvation and thirst at the hands of its enemy."
Mohammad Ali al-Houthi, a member of Yemen's Supreme Political Council, directly addressed US President Donald Trump, asserting, "You are mistaken. You do not scare us," and adding, "Our position is the correct one, while yours is reckless and illegitimate."
