US to issue critical report on 'Israel' minus violations condemnation
Axios reveals that the Department of State is studying the use of weapons by the Israeli occupation entity and six nations participating in various armed conflicts.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to present to Congress a "highly critical" report on "Israel" on Friday but will refrain from making any accusations of possible international law violations in the Gaza Strip, Axios reported, citing three informed US officials.
The news website mentioned that the Department of State is studying the use of weapons by the Israeli occupation entity and six nations participating in various armed conflicts under a new US National Security Memorandum.
According to Axios, if Washington uncovers any violations of international humanitarian legislation by these sides, it may decide to halt military assistance to them.
As part of the process, Blinken has reportedly been instructed to study a number of incidents related to the Israeli occupation forces' actions in Gaza.
The report highlighted that the Secretary of State is likely not to restrain himself from criticizing Tel Aviv but will stop short of concluding that "Israel" violated international law.
This comes a couple of days after President Joe Biden warned "Israel" that the United States would stop supplying artillery shells and other weapons if it invades Rafah in southern Gaza, as he admitted that Palestinian civilians had been killed by the dropping of US-made bombs.
The United States confirmed on Tuesday that it had already paused a shipment of large bombs over concerns about "Israel's" planned invasion of Rafah, where more than a million Palestinian civilians displaced by the war are sheltering near the Egyptian border.
But "Israel" defied international objections and Israeli occupation forces raided the eastern part of the city and occupied the main Rafah crossing with Egypt, even after Hamas announced it had accepted a ceasefire and prisoner swap deal presented by mediators in Doha and Cairo.
The recent US steps prompted Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to say that "Israel" was prepared to "stand alone" in its genocidal war on Gaza.
"If we have to stand alone, we will stand alone," Netanyahu said in a statement on Thursday.
"We will fight with our fingernails. But we have much more than fingernails," he stressed.
Later, Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari claimed that the Israeli occupation army had "enough weaponry to complete our mission in Rafah."
He mentioned in a televised address that "the United States has helped us in an unprecedented manner since the start of the war."
"We have our own interests and we are sensitive to the US interests," Hagari said.
