US, UK pushed Ukraine to war: Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah says the United States and the United Kingdom pushed Ukraine to war and those who belong to the white man's world are just a tool for the US.
Those who were wounded in the fight against the Israeli occupation are witnesses in a time of denial, and they are evidence of the continuation of resistance, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Tuesday on the occasion of the Wounded Fighter Day in Lebanon.
"The events in Ukraine are very important due to the lessons they can teach," he said, asking if Washington was calling on Russia not to target civilians, "What do they have to say about the [civilian] victims of the US wars?"
"US fighters bombed Afghan weddings and later on claimed that they were training sites," he reminded.
In a similar vein, he also reflected on the US-backed Israeli crimes in Palestine and "Tel Aviv's" embargo on the Gaza Strip and the Saudi-led coalition's crimes against civilians in Yemen, asking, "Why is the world silent on the Saudi blockade on Yemen?"
Regarding the Western bids to garner support in the World through their arms, Sayyed Nasrallah said: "Those who belong to the white man's world are a mere tool for the Americans," highlighting that thousands of trials should take place to try European and American armies for their crimes around the world.
As the world is being prominently vocal about the special military operation in Ukraine, Sayyed Nasrallah reminded that the whole world was silent about the terror attack on a mosque in Pakistan last week.
Against the backdrop of the world condemning Moscow for its operation, at the direction of Washington, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the US does not only not condemn the Israeli crimes in Palestine, "It prohibits the rest of the world from condemning them as well."
US allies have been bearing the brunt of trusting Washington, which the Hezbollah Secretary-General reminded of in his speech, citing the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and the situation in Ukraine. "There is more and more evidence every day that trusting the US is foolish and ignorant, and it constitutes a neglection of the homeland."
US, UK pushed Ukraine to war
"Several European countries did not want things to reach this point in Ukraine," he highlighted, underscoring that the United States and Britain pushed Ukraine to war."
"Washington reaffirmed daily that it would not send aircraft and troops to Ukraine despite pushing it to this tipping point [...] Ukrainian officials feel let down and disappointed, and Zelensky is now ready to discuss Moscow's demands," Sayyed Nasrallah added.
Discrimination against refugees
Sayyed Nasrallah touched on the means of dealing with refugees in the West in terms of crises, highlighting that it was exposing religion, race, and color-based discrimination. Is this the #Western civilization that we must follow?" he asked.
Russian cooperation with Lebanon
Sayyed Nasrallah revealed that a Russian firm proposed to establish an oil refinery with Russian financing and no guarantees in Lebanon.
"The Russian company was ready to provide all of Lebanon's needs for oil derivatives [...] and it assured that it would sell oil with the Lebanese currency instead of the [US] dollar," he further divulged.
Following 1.5 years of negotiations with the Russian firm, Beirut gave no answers, according to the Hezbollah chief, who stressed that it was the US embassy that was preventing Lebanon from responding to the Russian offer.
"The US prohibits Lebanon from going through with Russia without providing an alternative," he declared.
"If Hezbollah had much influence on the Lebanese state's decisions, the Russian proposal would have been responded to a year and a half ago," Sayyed Nasrallah said, in a nod to the baseless allegations suggesting that Hezbollah is in control of the government in Lebanon. During the speech, he told the Lebanese officials to make a decision and take the offer, "Because there are queues in gas stations again."
