US urges diplomatic solution following Israeli aggression on Lebanon
The US called for a diplomatic resolution to escalating tensions between Lebanon and "Israel" following a series of deadly strikes by the Israeli regime on residential areas in southern Lebanon.
The US on Tuesday urged for a diplomatic solution to address rising tensions between Lebanon and "Israel" after the regime initiated a series of deadly strikes on residential areas in several towns and villages across southern Lebanon.
"We continue to believe that there is a diplomatic path forward and we will continue to push forward to try to resolve this issue diplomatically," State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli regime launched a military aggression via airstrikes on southern Lebanon, resulting in the martyrdom of four people, including a mother and her two children.
The aggressions targeted the villages of Souaneh, Adshit, and Chehabiyeh.

The attacks on civilian homes came after the resistance carried out a significant operation earlier this morning, including a missile attack near the Israeli Northern Command headquarters in Safad, northern occupied Palestine. This marked the second strike against "Israel's" most vital military base in the North since October 2023.
Israeli media reported that at least 10 missiles were launched toward Israeli military bases and sites, killing an Israeli soldier and injuring 7 others.
At the edge of regional war
Amid a surge in resistance operations across the region and a decline in "Israel's" global reputation, the regime has been deliberately escalating provocations in an attempt to drag the US into a regional war.
Not only have Resistance groups across the Middle East been targeting Israeli-linked elements in response to the genocide, but Cairo has also warned that it would be compelled to terminate "peace" agreements with the regime if the city of Rafah in Gaza were to be invaded.
Meanwhile, discussions are reportedly taking place regarding the potential withdrawal of US troops in both Iraq and Syria.
In case Netanyahu proceeds with his plan to invade Rafah, the US may decide to scale back on its decision to withdraw troops. The matter remains open to debate.
