Venezuela VP to Al Mayadeen: Palestinians are victims of genocide
The Vice-President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, tells Al Mayadeen that Venezuela stands with the people of Palestine who are the "victims of genocide".
The Vice-President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, stressed the importance of the vote held this Friday at the United Nations General Assembly to approve a resolution in favor of the protection of civilians in the Gaza Strip after 22 days of Israeli massacres.
The resolution also called for humanitarian aid to be allowed in and for compliance with international obligations to protect the population in the event of an armed conflict.
The Bolivarian vice-president told Al Mayadeen that 120 countries voted in favor of this resolution, and Venezuela also adds its voice in favor of respecting this resolution.
Referring to the remarks made by Israeli Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen, when he described as "despicable" the demand for the cessation of hostilities, fire, and forced displacement of the Palestinian people, Rodriguez said, "I also want him to listen to the voice of thousands of Jews around the world who are asking for a halt to this policy of massacre against the Palestinian people."
'Palestine, the world is with you'
Moreover, Rodriguez also stressed the horrors that are taking place across the Palestinian territory while the world is raising its voice in their favor saying, "At this moment, one of the worst massacres is taking place in the territory of Gaza and in the West Bank. All communications have been cut off, the internet has been cut off, and the images of the bombings coming in through various channels are horrifying."
The Vice-president then said, "Stop the murder of Palestinian children, of Palestinian women, stop this policy of extermination. For God's sake! This is a call from the peoples of the world and we express our solidarity with this people who today are victims of genocide."
Rodriguez emphasized the need to join the cries heard in all parts of the world and tell the people who sacrifice themselves to defend their rights: "Palestine, the world is with you".
