In the West Bank and occupied al-Quds, the Israeli occupation has taken the liberty to assault Palestinians more intensely under various pretenses, committing a silent genocide against Palestinians.

The Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners Society said on Tuesday that the Israeli occupation forces have detained at least 20 Palestinians from the West Bank since yesterday evening. Among those detained are two freed prisoners, Obada Hossam and Mahran Ammar Humaidan, who are prisoners who had been liberated as part of the prisoner exchange deal that took place back in December 2023.

According to the two organizations, the detention campaigns took place in the following governorates: Ramallah, al-Khalil, Tulkarm, Beit Lahm, Nablus, Jenin, and occupied al-Quds.

With these recent detentions, the total number of detained Palestinians from the West Bank and al-Quds, since October 7th, crosses over 7,120. This figure includes those who were detained from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure, and those taken as hostages.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation continues to commit the crime of forced disappearance against Gaza detainees, 137 days after the aggression and genocide. The occupation authorities refuse to provide any information about their fate or places of detention to relevant international and Palestinian human rights institutions, including the fate of Gaza martyrs whose bodies were taken by the IOF.

Moreover, multiple sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces carried out widespread acts of abuse, physical assaults, and threats against the detainees and their families. Additionally, there were incidents of extensive destruction and vandalism of Palestinian homes.

Domicide: an Israeli occupation policy

Most notably, it was reported that the occupation municipality bulldozers, on Tuesday morning, demolished an eight-story residential building currently under construction owned by the Abu Zahra family in Beit Hanina, al-Quds, under the pretense that it was built without a permit.

A large number of Israeli occupation police forces were deployed in the area, as the occupation demolition crews tore down the upper floors.

The newspaper further reported that this comes amid an escalation of the Israeli occupation's systematic domicide, a policy of demolishing Palestinian homes in the West Bank and occupied al-Quds, issuing evacuation notices for dozens of Palestinians and homeowners in areas adjacent to al-Aqsa Mosque, for Israeli settlement purposes.

Landgrabs: silent genocide

Significantly, Palestinian newspaper Ajyal reported that a group of settlers, protected by the Israeli occupation forces, seized a piece of land owned by several Palestinian families in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in the town of Silwan, occupied al-Quds, for the purpose of settlement expansion.

The Israeli settlers, according to Ajyal, fenced off the land with barbed wire to take control of it.

In conjunction with the settlers' fencing of the land, Israeli occupation forces in al-Quds arrested Iyad al-Rajabi after assaulting him.

This aggression by the Israeli occupation is part of a policy of Judaizing the land and emptying it of its historic residents and its Arab identity. The settlers, protected by the occupation forces, seized the land belonging to the Palestinian families of Siam, al-Rajabi, and Salwadi.

Any Palestinian who insists on remaining in their place, insisting that the land that is being seized is theirs, was assaulted and detained, much like Iyad al-Rajabi.
