WHO rejects 'Israel's' request to take Palestine clause off agenda
The World Health Assembly rejects the demands of "Israel" and the United States to take the clause pertaining to Palestine off of its agenda.
The World Health Assembly, the forum through which the World Health Organization is governed by its 194 member states, rejected a request made by “Israel” and the United States to have the clause pertaining to Palestine taken off of its agenda.
The decision came with 76 countries voting against “Israel’s” request and 13 countries voting in favor of it.
It is worth noting that the UN General Assembly adopted, last year, by an overwhelming majority, a resolution on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination. At the time, 168 countries voted in favor of the resolution, while 6 countries voted against it and 8 countries abstained.
