W.House: Biden 'looks forward' to 'Israel' visit
Israeli PM Naftali Bennett called US President Joe Biden to discuss several issues, including the Vienna talks and the Ukraine Crisis.
US President Joe Biden expressed interest in visiting “Israel” later this year during a phone chat with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Sunday, according to a White House statement.
Biden also expressed his "unwavering support" for “Israel's” security as well as his "complete support" for the Iron Dome air defense system's replenishment.
According to the White House, the two also discussed fears that Russia is "planning an invasion" of Ukraine.
"The President thanked the Prime Minister for his invitation to visit Israel and said he looks forward to a visit later this year," the statement said.
Last year, Biden hosted Bennett at the White House, where the two managed to put aside their differences and present a united front.
“Israel” has long opposed Biden's attempt to return to the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, known as the JCPOA.
Bennett has also brashly stated that he will continue to build settlements and opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state in the 1967 lands occupied by “Israel”.
Biden spoke with Bennett to "reaffirm the warm and historic partnership between the United States and Israel," The White House stressed Sunday.
They tackled West Asia's security matters, particularly what the White House statement described as "the threat presented by Iran and its proxies."
