YAF down their 14th US-made MQ-9 Reaper UAV
The Yemeni Armed Forces have downed an American MQ-9 drone over Marib, in support of Gaza and response to the Israeli and US-UK aggression on the country.
In their first operation of 2025, the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced on Wednesday that they had successfully shot down an American MQ-9 drone with a locally made surface-to-air missile while it was conducting hostile missions in the skies over the province of Marib.
In a statement, Saree confirmed that this drone is the second of its kind to be successfully downed by Yemeni air defenses in 72 hours, and the 14th drone since the launch of the support front in defense of the Gaza Strip and Palestine.

Saree emphasized that this operation comes "as a victory for the suffering of the Palestinian people and their fighters and as part of the response to the American-British aggression against Yemen."
He further reiterated that the Yemeni Armed Forces "remain committed to confronting all enemy attempts to undermine Yemen's sovereignty," and that they will continue to support Gaza until the aggression against it stops and the siege is lifted.
It is worth noting that the YAF announced last Saturday that they had shot down an American MQ-9 drone with a locally made surface-to-air missile while it was carrying out hostile missions in the skies of al-Bayda Governorate.
At the time, the YAF had announced that they had targeted Nevatim air base, located in the al-Naqab region of southern Israeli-occupied Palestine.
Saree explained that the operation "was carried out using a hypersonic ballistic missile, the Palestine 2, confirming that it "successfully hit its target."
The operation was conducted in support "of the Palestinian people and their fighters, in response to the massacres against our brothers in Gaza, as part of the fifth phase of support in the Battle of the Promised Conquest and Holy Jihad, and as part of the response to Israeli aggression against Yemen," according to Saree.
