The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Saturday that they launched a new missile attack against what they described as sensitive Israeli sites, in retaliation for the ongoing war in Gaza and airstrikes on Yemen.
According to a statement made by Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the operation involved a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile equipped with multiple warheads. The projectile reportedly targeted positions in Yafa (Tel Aviv Metropolitan Area) in the occupied Palestinian territories. The statement said the strike “achieved its objectives,” prompting settlers in nearby communities to seek shelter. There was no immediate confirmation from Israeli authorities.
Yemen’s military said the attack was a response to “genocide and starvation” against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and to Israeli raids on Yemeni territory. It vowed to continue operations in support of the Palestinian people and framed the launch as part of its commitment to stand with Gaza until hostilities end.
The statement praised “the steadfast Yemeni people” for backing efforts to aid Gaza despite Israeli bombardments. It added that continued “aggression” would not deter Yemen from “perseverance and defiance.”
Yemen strikes main Israeli airport
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced Thursday that they executed two top-tier operations targeting sensitive Israeli military sites in occupied Palestine, using a hypersonic ballistic missile and three drones.
In a statement, the YAF spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree detailed that an Israeli military target in the occupied al-Naqab region came under attack with a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile
He added that another military operation was carried out via three drones, two of which targeted Ramon Airport, in Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) within the occupied Palestinian territory, while the third hit a military target also in the occupied al-Naqab region.
Saree confirmed that both operation successfully achieved their objectives, forcing millions of Israeli settlers into shelters.
Explosions heard in Eilat: Israeli media
Earlier that day, Israeli media claimed that Israeli air defenses intercepted a drone incoming from Yemen. Additionally, an explosion took place in Eilat, with Israeli media affirming that sirens were activated, warning of a UAV infiltration from Yemen.
Yemeni forces are pressing on with their offensive, targeting a range of Israeli assets from Ben Gurion Airport to ships heading for its ports, firmly stating that their campaign will continue until "Israel" stops its assault on Gaza and lifts the blockade.
On September 9, Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced in a televised statement that Yemen's missile forces had conducted a military operation in support of the Palestinian people and in response to what he described as the "Zionist enemy's genocidal crimes and use of starvation tactics against Gaza."
Saree detailed that the rocket force had launched a Palestine 2 hypersonic ballistic missile, fitted with multiple warheads, at what he referred to as "sensitive targets around occupied al-Quds", affirming the strike's success by stating it had forced millions of Israeli settlers to flee into shelters.
