Yemen commemorates martyr Sinwar, pledges to remain by Palestine side
Sanaa holds a funeral ceremony for martyred Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, pledging to remain by the sides of the Palestinian and Lebanese people.
Yemen stands unwaveringly by the Palestinian and Lebanese people, Yemeni Supreme Political Council member Abdulaziz bin Habtoor said on Wednesday.
"Today, we reiterate the stances of the leader of the revolution which have been clear since the very first day of Operation al-Aqsa Flood, that we will not leave our people in Gaza alone, and we will work side by side with them with all the power we have," bin Habtoor underlined during an official funeral ceremony held in absentia for the head of Hamas' Political Bureau, martyr Yahya Sinwar.
He emphasized that Yemen's commitment to the Axis of Resistance was part of its vision and principle, adding, "We will not abandon this axis until it achieves victory."
Yemen's fingers 'on the trigger'
Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi, the Prime Minister of the Sanaa government, also honored Sinwar, praising his strategic role in the Resistance. "The martyr leader Yahya Sinwar drew the lines of October 7th, achieved a great victory against the entity, exposed its security and intelligence weaknesses, and thwarted its plans," he said.
Al-Rahwi reaffirmed Yemen's continued solidarity with the Palestinian people under their leader's guidance, stating, "Yemen, under our leader's banner, continues to stand by the Palestinian people without hesitation or deviation, with fingers on the trigger."
Muath Abu Shamala, Hamas' representative in Yemen, also spoke at the event, noting that Sinwar's martyrdom was a driving force for ongoing resistance. "The martyrdom of our leader gives us the motivation to continue jihad until we regain our land and al-Quds, bring our prisoners home with dignity, and eliminate the Zionist entity," he said.
Abu Shamala further honored Sinwar's legacy, highlighting his decades-long struggle. "The martyred leader Yahya Sinwar passed away after six decades spent inside and outside of prisons, and he met his Lord with his head held high."
He concluded by praising Yemen's participation in the resistance, stating, "Yemen's participation is a source of pride, a declaration of rejecting submission and humiliation by the Zionist enemy and its supporters from the US and Western countries."
Yemen mourns martyr Sinwar
The Supreme Political Council of Yemen mourned on Friday the great martyr and prominent leader, Hamas Political Bureau chief Yahya Sinwar, "who was killed after a long journey of struggle and sacrifice."
In a statement offering its condolences, the council affirmed that the heroic martyr raised the banner of the struggle, standing steadfast at the forefront of the oppressed Palestinian people and the resistance movements.
The council emphasized that Sinwar formed a strong front against the "criminal Zionist aggression until his efforts culminated in martyrdom for the sake of God."
Sanaa extended congratulations to the Arab-Islamic nation, especially Hamas, for the significant sacrifice of leader Yahya Sinwar, stating that his blood would serve as "the fuel that will ignite the fire against the Zionists and increase the determination and resolve of the fighters in Palestine."
In conclusion, the Political Council reiterated Yemen's unwavering position of solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people, pledging to continue support "with all available resources and means until the aggression is halted and the siege is lifted."
Additionally, Mohammed Abdulsalam, spokesperson for the Ansar Allah movement, issued a statement congratulating Hamas and the Palestinian people on Sinwar receiving "the medal of martyrdom," fighting for the noblest and just cause.
