The Yemeni Armed Forces' (YAF) Rocket Force launched a Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile at the Israeli Ben Gurion Airport in occupied Yafa (Tel Aviv), spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced on Sunday.
Air activity at Ben Gurion Airport was completely halted amid the sounding of sirens as a result of a missile launch from Yemen on Sunday morning, Israeli Channel 12 reported.
Sirens had blared in central occupied Palestine, including Tel Aviv and occupied al-Quds, according to the Israeli military, which claimed that the missile was intercepted.
However, Saree affirmed that the operation successfully hit its target, causing air traffic at the airport to halt for more than half an hour.
Saree previously emphasized that the Ben Gurion Airport is no longer safe for air traffic, warning that it will remain a target until the Israeli war on Gaza ends.
Today's operation marks the fifth time this week that Yemen has targeted central "Israel", following a two-month pause in operations coinciding with a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which "Israel" last week violated by resuming its war on the Palestinian enclave.
USS Harry S. Truman comes under attack
Moreover, in response to the recent US airstrikes that targeted Yemen with dozens of raids within hours, Yemeni forces engaged in clashes with the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and several enemy warships in the Red Sea. The confrontation, which lasted for several hours, involved several missile strikes and drone attacks, Saree highlighted.
US warplanes targeted the Hodeidah International Airport in 3 separate airstrikes on Saturday night, in addition to the al-Manzar area, south of the coastal city of Hodeidah in western Yemen, while 5 airstrikes targeted the al-Manzar directorate in northeastern Yemen.
The Yemeni Armed Forces affirmed their commitment to countering the “brutal and criminal aggression” with unwavering resolve. They reiterated their support for the Palestinian people and pledged to continue blocking Israeli navigation in the designated operational area until the aggression ceases and the siege on Gaza is lifted.
