The Yemeni Armed Forces announced that they shot down an MQ-9 drone, as Yemen continues to face brutal US aggression that has killed and wounded hundreds of civilians across the country.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, stated that their air defenses had successfully intercepted the American aircraft with a domestically produced surface-to-air missile, marking the second such downing in 72 hours and the 17th since the launch of the "Promised Conquest and Sacred Struggle" campaign in solidarity with Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces emphasized their continued determination to counter all enemy attempts to undermine their country's sovereignty, affirming that they—alongside the great Yemeni people—will persist in their operations in support of Gaza, adding that these operations will not cease unless the aggression against Gaza ends and the blockade is lifted.
Yemen MoH reports 61 martyrs from US aggression
In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Yemeni Health Ministry spokesperson Anis al-Asbahi reported that five people were killed, five others injured, and one person went missing in airstrikes on Yemen over the past 24 hours. He emphasized that Yemenis are fully aware of the challenges they face and are prepared to confront them.
Al-Asbahi previously confirmed to Al Mayadeen on April 2 that the death toll from the US-led aggression on Sanaa and other governorates since mid-March has reached 61 martyrs and 139 wounded.
He also stated that since Yemen began its support operation for Gaza, the US-British-Israeli aggression has left 964 civilian casualties, including 250 martyrs.
This toll reflects data recorded up until April 1.
Since Yemen resumed its operations at sea and against occupied territories in response to the renewed Israeli aggression on Gaza, the United States has intensified its attacks on Yemen, conducting airstrikes on various governorates.
