Yemeni Army seizes sites in the Qashaan mountain range
The Yemeni Army and Popular Committees took control of sites in the Qashaan mountains and Salba Valley, amid ongoing battles in southeast Marib.
The Yemeni Army and Popular Committees overtook a number of sites in the Qashaan mountain range and Silbah Valley in the Khabb and Al-Shaaf District bordering Saudi Arabia in Yemen's northeast.
Mount Qashaan's strategic importance stems from its oversight of the Yatama region, the administrative headquarters of the Khabb and Al-Shaaf District, as well as the Al-Ajashir desert, which stretches between the Saudi governorates of Al-Jawf and Najran.
Despite intense airstrikes, the Saudi-led coalition forces failed to slow the progress of the Army in their operations in the regions.
Battles are at their peak between Sanaa government forces, on the one hand, and Hadi forces backed by the Saudi-led coalition, on the other.
In the last hours, Saudi coalition warplanes carried out 18 raids to help Hadi's forces overpower the progressing Yemeni Army and Popular Committees.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Saudi-led coalition claimed that it destroyed a highly classified site in Azal District in Sanaa, alleging that the bombing destroyed two missile storage caves and four secret warehouses related to drone activity.
It is noteworthy that Nasser Al-Zubiani, the head of the military operations of Hadi government forces, was killed along with 27 of his troops in battles with the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees southeast of the city of Marib in the past 48 hours.
Since last Monday, Saudi coalition warplanes have launched more than 200 airstrikes targeting the districts of Sirwah, Al-Juba, and Wadi Ubaidah, in repeated attempts to slow the progress of the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees toward Marib in northeastern Yemen.
