Massive protests took place today, Friday, in several areas in Saada Governorate in northern Yemen, under the slogan "Steadfast with Palestine, US mother of terrorism," in support of the Palestinian people and condemnation of the US-UK aggression on Yemen.

A statement from the marches in Saada Governorate, northern Yemen, declared that the US-UK aggression will not deter the Yemeni people from supporting occupied Palestine.

The statement further affirmed Yemen's steadfast stance alongside occupied Palestine, stressing its continued mobilization across various levels, including the military operations being carried out in the Red and Arabian Seas.

US designations targeting Yemeni people

The statement praised the military operations carried out by the Yemeni armed forces, which targeted Israeli and American ships, preventing navigation towards the occupied ports of occupied Palestine but ensuring the safe passage of all other vessels heading to various destinations.

Moreover, the statement pointed out that the US designations are targeting the Yemeni people and serving the interests of Washington and "Israel", however, these designations will not alter Yemen's position which remains firm in support of the Resistance in occupied Palestine.

The statement also called on the Islamic and Arab nations to break the barrier of fear and silence imposed by collaborating regimes with the Israeli occupation.

Additionally, the statement from the marches in Saada called on the free people of the world to expand the economic boycott of US and Israeli goods and supporting companies.

Yemen's Ansar Allah: US terror designation is 'ironically amusing'

The United States has officially designated the Ansar Allah Movement in Yemen, as a global terrorist group, citing attacks on naval vessels in the Red Sea, as a driver of the decision.

The decision will take effect on February 16 this year, in which Ansar Allah will become a Specially Designated Global Terrorist, Jake Sullivan, the Biden Administration's national security Advisor announced on Wednesday.

"The people of Yemen should not pay the price for the actions of the Houthis," Sullivan said in the press release.

White House officials held a special teleconference to address questions regarding the decision. According to one official the US Department of the Treasury will issue five additional broad general licenses that authorize certain transactions related to the provision of food, medical devices, and medicines, fuel, personal remittances, operations of airports and ports. The official alleged that this would be done to ensure that the Yemeni people would not harmed in any way.
