Colonel Abdul Samad Al-Mutawakil, a distinguished leader within the Eighth Presidential Protection Brigade emphasized the complex challenges facing the Islamic world at large and Yemen in particular. This development aligns with the recent statement by Yemen's President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, who stressed the critical need to prioritize "the defense against aggression and the siege" on Yemen.
During a gathering of prominent figures in Sanaa province, Al-Mashat reiterated that the conflict persists and called for continuous high readiness levels across the board, encompassing the armed forces, security agencies, and tribal support.
It is essential to note that the prolonged aggression against Yemen, extending until late 2021, has claimed the lives of approximately 377,000 individuals and inflicted cumulative economic losses amounting to $126 billion. Furthermore, a staggering 80% of Yemen's population currently depends on humanitarian assistance, according to the United Nations.
