Pedri and Ansu Fati, Barcelona's stars, will not be discarded.

Barcelona's experience this summer with its former Argentine star, Lionel Messi, was harsh for the club.

Barca lost its legendary player after the expiration of his contract with the club in June 2021 to move free of charge to Paris Saint-Germain.

Therefore, Barcelona does not want to repeat Messi's experience with its two promising stars Pedro Gonzalez Lopez “Pedri” and Anssumane Fati “Ansu,” who constitute a new generation that Barca seeks to establish in a new stage after Messi.

The current deal for Pedri and Fati runs through June 2022, according to the Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo. An option in the contract permits Barcelona to extend it for another two years, even if Barca wants to sign a new contract with its players.

However, things appear to be different with Fati, according to the newspaper, since his Portuguese agent, Jorge Mendes, says that the two-year extension does not apply to his player.

It is reported that Barcelona gave Fati the number 10 shirt that Messi was wearing.
