With minimum preparations, lack of facilities, and an Israeli occupation, the Palestinian players are attracting a lot of attention at the 44th Chess Olympiad 2022 that is being held in India, the Sportstar website reported.
Palestine women team members Sara Alhmouri, Eman Sawan, Randa Seder, and Taqwa Hamouri have challenged the Israeli occupation in order to pin Palestine's name on the map of the chess world.
"We face many difficulties (back home)," said Hamouri.
The player explained that "it takes us two full days to travel from Palestine to India, because we don’t have an airport because of the occupation. We have to travel via Jordan."
Hamouri indicated that Gazan chess players were forced to compete online because they could not travel due to restrictions by the Israeli occupation.
"That is why you are not seeing any players from Gaza here," she said, adding that "we don’t have enough coaches (and chess clubs)."
In another unique achievement - other than challenging the occupation and traveling abroad to represent Palestine - Randa Seder, 8, is considered to be the youngest player at this Olympiad.
The Palestinian chess players are competing in the Olympiad in parallel with Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Unfortunately, Alaa Qadoum, another Palestinian girl, three years younger than Randa, just like thousands of Palestinian children, was deprived of any chance to lead any normal life whatsoever. A couple of days ago, Alaa was murdered in an Israeli airstrike in her house in Gaza.
"Israel" butchers childhood in cold blood.

On Friday, the Israeli occupation launched an aggression against the Gaza Strip, targeting Al-Quds Brigades Commander Taiseer Al-Jaabari, a military commander in the Strip.
Al-Quds Brigades launched an operation in response to the Israeli occupation's aggression on Gaza by launching salvoes of rockets toward the occupied Palestinian territories.
Al Mayadeen correspondent indicated that the death toll of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has reached 31 martyrs and more than 220 wounded since Friday afternoon.
