Barcelona in Qatar for Xavi
Barcelona officials flew to Qatar in order to sign Xavi as the new club's head coach.
Media reports indicated Wednesday that Barcelona officials flew to Qatar to sign Xavi Hernandez, former Barcelona midfielder and current Al-Sadd Head Coach.
Barcelona officials Rafa Yuste and Mateu Alemany traveled to Doha to try to negotiate Xavi's release from Al Sadd and met with the former Barcelona midfielder's agents in Qatar on Wednesday, Sky Sports reported.
Barcelona President Joan Laporta, however, was not among the delegation heading to Qatar.
Barcelona are set to complete the agreement with Xavi and Al-Sadd, confirmed. It’s matter of time.

Al-Sadd expressed their unwillingness to let go of Xavi. "We cannot have him leave at this sensitive time of the season," Al-Sadd CEO Turki Al-Ali said.
The Catalan club is looking to replace Ronald Koeman, who was sacked last week following a poor start to the campaign, having appointed Sergi Barjuan as interim coach.
