Gerrard Returns to the English Premier League
Former Liverpool star Steven Gerrard returns to the English Premier League on a tough mission to coach Aston Villa.
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard returned to the English Premier League on a tough mission.
This time, Gerrard was appointed as Aston Villa's coach succeeding former sacked coach Dean Smith.
Last Sunday, the club sacked Dean Smith after the team's poor results, where the team ranks 16th in the Premier League table after 7 defeats, 1 draw, and 3 victories.
In a statement on their official website on Thursday, Aston Villa announced that the club "is delighted to announce the appointment of Steven Gerrard" as its new Head Coach.
The statement added that "Gerrard guided Glasgow Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title last season, finishing the campaign undefeated in the league."

For his part, the newly appointed Gerrard pointed out that "Aston Villa is a club with a rich history and tradition in English football."
He also expressed that he is "immensely proud" to become the club's new Head Coach.
Gerrard, 41, took charge of Rangers in 2018 after briefly supervising the Liverpool academy, and led the Scottish team to win its first league title in 10 years undefeated.
