In a new normalization step with the Israeli occupation, Emirati football club Al Ain FC announced the signing of Israeli player Omer Atzili coming from Maccabi Haifa.

Israeli media reported that the salary that Atzili will receive is estimated at nearly $1.9 million per season.

Emirati media highlighted that Al Ain was not the only Emirati club that wanted to receive the services of Atzili.

The media mentioned that Al-Wahda and Al-Jazeera were in the race to sign the Israeli player.

Following the announcement, some social media users rebuked the Emirat club for signing the illegal Israeli settler, turning a blind eye to Israeli occupation crimes against Palestinian people on a daily basis.

It is noteworthy that the UAE was one of the first Arab states to normalize ties with the Israeli occupation.
