Pele's daughter uploaded an emotional image of her father lying in a hospital bed, cherishing "another night together" as he fights cancer.

Football legend Pele, 82, has been battling colon cancer since September 2021. On November 29, he was admitted to the hospital so that physicians could reassess his course of treatment.

"We are still here, fighting and believing. Along with a picture of Pele being cuddled in bed, his daughter Kely Nascimento commented on Instagram, "Another night together." Sophia, Pelé's granddaughter, is also visible in the image.

A video of Pele resting in his bed while family members talked to him was shared along with the touching image.

Meus amigos, que tristeza!

Pelé fez tantas pessoas chorarem de alegria… Hoje choramos em vê-lo nessa situação.

In a recent Instagram post, Nascimento unmasked that her father found the support of his followers to be a "great comfort."

She tweeted: "Your love for him, your stories, and your prayers are a HUGE comfort because we know we are not alone."

"Let's turn this room into a Sambadrome (just kidding), let's even make caipirinhas (not kidding!!)."

Pele's condition was updated earlier this week by the hospital, which stated that he now needs treatment for cardiac and renal problems.

Despite being in the hospital, Pele, who is regarded as Brazil's all-time best player, was able to follow his nation's World Cup campaign in Qatar.

After praising Brazil despite their elimination from the quarterfinals, he once more turned to social media to congratulate Lionel Messi and Argentina on their thrilling victory over France in the penalty shootout.

"Today, football continues to tell its story, as always, in an enthralling way. Messi winning his first World Cup, as his trajectory deserved," Pele wrote on Instagram.
