Sadio Mane leaves Liverpool, joins Bayern Munich on 3-year contract
Senegal's Sadio Mane will join the Bayern Munich team on a 3-year contract in a $42 million deal.
Sadio Mane has joined Bayern Munich from Liverpool in a deal potentially up to £35 million.
The 30-year-old has committed to the German champions until 2025.
Bayern will pay Liverpool an initial £27.5 million, with a further £5 million depending on appearances and another £2.5 million based on individual and team successes.
The fee exceeds what Liverpool spent for Mane (£31 million + £2.5 million in add-ons), with Southampton receiving no more compensation.
Mane has just one year left on his contract at Anfield and is leaving after the club signed Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica for a club-record fee.
He leaves Merseyside having made 269 appearances in all competitions since signing from Southampton in 2016, scoring 120 goals and assisting 48 times.
He won the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup during his six years at Anfield.
