World snooker championship interrupted by Just Stop Oil protesters
Just Stop Oil urged the UK government to "stop all new UK fossil fuel projects."
According to The Guardian, environmental protestors from Just Stop Oil disrupted the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield, UK, by throwing orange powder paint over a table.
On Twitter, Just Stop Oil asked the UK government to halt all new fossil fuel projects.
According to the report, the match between Robert Milkins and Joe Perry was suspended for 24 hours due to the incident.
In the video, the protester can be seen hopping on the table before being hauled away by security personnel.
A female protester attempted to stick herself to the other table during the match between Mark Allen and Fan Zhengyi, but was prevented from doing so.
Play was immediately halted at both tables. The table linen on one table was irreparably destroyed and would have to be replaced overnight.
