Call of Duty will be released on Nintendo Switch, announces Microsoft
Microsoft is in the process of buying Activision Blizzard, and the purchase is being examined by antitrust authorities.
Call of Duty will be available on Nintendo Switch's console if the acquisition of its developer goes ahead, according to a Microsoft executive on Wednesday.
Microsoft is in the process of buying Activision Blizzard - however, the $69 billion purchase has not been finalized yet as it is being examined by antitrust authorities. "Microsoft is committed to helping bring more games to more people -- however they choose to play," said Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox in a Tweet.

Furthermore, new titles in the series will continue to be sold on Steam, which is an online platform for downloading games.
Serkan Toto who works with Kantan Games, a consulting agency, told AFP that the timing of the announcement was "clearly a publicity stunt" and it was linked to ongoing negotiations regarding Activision's acquisition.
"So if Activision was really interested in bringing 'Call of Duty' to a Nintendo platform, to the Nintendo Switch, they could have done it three or four years ago," Toto said.
Nintendo Switch had over 110 million users in the past year.
Microsoft president Brad Smith wrote earlier this week in a Wall Street Journal article that Microsoft has offered to strike a contract with Sony in a similar deal over a 10-year period. However, Sony has rejected the offer.
