India launches 36 OneWeb satellites into orbit: ISRO
By 2027, users around the world will be able to access the OneWeb project's high-speed network.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched on Sunday morning a heavy-lift LVM3 rocket carrying 36 OneWeb communications satellites.
On the southeastern island of Sriharikota, at 09:00 (03:30 GMT), the rocket was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, and the ISRO broadcast the launch.
OneWeb's constellation of more than 600 satellites, which will provide high-speed internet to every country in the world, has now been fully deployed with the launch.

This is OneWeb's second attempt to launch 72 satellites into low-Earth orbit as part of a business deal with NewSpace India Limited. Private satellite communications firm OneWeb has Bharti Enterprises of India as a significant investor and shareholder. Its launch is a component of its commitment to offer access to high-speed internet at an affordable price, particularly in isolated and rural locations.
