The 25-year-old Palestinian engineer is breaking the barriers imposed by the occupation.
Engineer Bayan Abu Salama, a graduate of Birzeit University in the West Bank, devised a new method for building miniature satellites.
She named the first model Palestine-1, thus making it the first-ever Palestinian satellite.
Abu Salama, 25, received her master's degree with distinction at Queen Mary University of London.
She is originally from Jenin and has finished her secondary education at Beitunia Girls’ Secondary School in Ramallah.
Bayan Abu Salama eventually graduated from Birzeit University, Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2018, and received her master’s degree in London this year.
