WhatsApp's upcoming feature lets you message, save notes to yourself
Users can also pin their self-chat messages and avoid going through an extensive search list among other chats or contacts.
A new feature launched by messaging platform WhatsApp lets users chat with themselves by sending messages that would allow easy access to pieces of information, such as notes.
Alongside notes, reminders, to-do lists, and shopping lists are also part of easy access through the feature “Message Yourself", which was announced on Monday by the owner, Meta, and will eventually be available to Android and iPhone users in the next upcoming weeks.
After being initially tested with some beta testers, as confirmed by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo in October, the company confirmed to TechCrunch that the new update will become soon available globally.

Users can also pin their self-chat messages and avoid going through an extensive search list among other chats or contacts.
This feature, however, although new to Whatsapp, it's so fresh to some users who have already used such an aspect with other platforms and was already available through the self-chat option using the wa.me URL. Community platform Slack, for example, has a space called “Jot Something Down” to allow users to send notes and save them to themselves, similar to messaging app Telegram.
Telegram has a space called Saved Messages where users can send, bookmark, and pin messages and notes to themselves, which can be accessed from the top of the screen.
Note to Self is another feature found in WhatsApp's rival Signal that has the same advantages with the same functions with one downside, which is that users are required to go through a search-and-select process to find their own name and start saving notes.
