As Keir Starmer, the UK Prime Minister, cut central heating benefits for around 10 million pensioners, Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers released a parody song criticizing this move, titled "Freezing this Christmas," a cover of the Mud song. 1.4 million people have already watched the cover song on YouTube and there's now a campaign underway to get it to the top of the festive charts. The song also uses audio from an interview Starmer gave to Good Housekeeping magazine in April, in which he said of one pensioner, “She told me that she doesn’t get out of bed till midday because she doesn’t want to turn the heating on.”
