'Intifada' chanted by pro-Palestine protesters in Tokyo
On Saturday, May 11, hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters assembled near Shibuya station in Tokyo and proceeded to march down the streets. Their voices echoed with chants of "Intifada" in a display of solidarity with Gaza. Holding banners alongside Palestine's flag, they demanded an urgent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Among the protesters, Tatiana Sukon, 26, whose father is from Palestine, took charge as an organizer. She led the crowd in spirited chants of "Intifada, Intifada. Long live the Intifada," a term in Arabic that means uprising.
