1,300 Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque as Ben-Gvir leads provocative prayers
Far-right Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir led 1,300 settlers in a provocative incursion into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied al-Quds to mark the Jewish holiday of "Sukkot", the Islamic Endowments Department reported. Footage showed Ben-Gvir praying at the site and calling on Prime Minister Netanyahu for "complete victory" over Hamas in Gaza, as reported by Reuters. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers clapped and performed rituals inside the compound, widely regarded as the third-holiest site for Muslims worldwide. In this context, Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the "intrusion of the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, as well as the incursions and provocative actions of extremists at the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police."
