A newly released UN report found that one Palestinian child is injured or dies every 10 minutes as "Israel's" war on Gaza nears its seventh month. WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic stressed that with only a third of Gaza's 36 hospitals still operational, there's little left to salvage in the enclave's health system, emphasizing the urgent need to "preserve what is left." However, the needs remain vast, with over 76,000 people injured. Several UN agencies have repeatedly raised concerns about surgeries, especially amputations and C-section births, being conducted without anesthesia. The WHO officer underscored the necessity for an effective, transparent, and workable deconfliction mechanism, referring to the approval system used by humanitarian organizations and warring parties to safeguard aid convoys from being targeted.
