Freed Gaza photojournalist Shadi Abu Sido recounted to Al Mayadeen the horrific torture inflicted by Israeli forces on Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons. For 20 months, Abu Sido described being blindfolded, shackled, sleep-deprived, and food-deprived, as well as forced to believe that his family had been killed, as part of "Israel's" psychological torture. Beyond his own torture, Abu Sido emphasized the ongoing, systematic torture of Palestinian detainees, including humiliation, attacks by dogs, and even rapes, which he said continues daily and leaves prisoners wishing for death. He called on everyone to act urgently to free all Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons.
