Funeral held for Hezbollah commander, Haitham Ali Tabatabai, killed in Israeli strike
Hezbollah held a funeral procession in Beirut’s Southern Suburb for senior military commander Haitham Ali Tabatabai, known as Sayyed Abu Ali, who was killed in the Israeli airstrike on Haret Hreik along with four of his companions, on Sunday. During the ceremony, Hezbollah Executive Council head Sheikh Ali Daamoush delivered a eulogy, describing Tabatabai as "a man of the field" and one of the key figures in major Resistance operations, including the Battle of the People of Might. Sheikh Daamoush noted, "The enemy has always thought that by assassinating leaders, it would defeat the resistance, but it failed to realize that we in Hezbollah grow stronger and greater with every martyr." He reiterated that Hezbollah is not considering any proposals while "Israel" continues violating the ceasefire agreement, and called on the Lebanese state "to protect its citizens and sovereignty," adding that the "government must push plans to that effect and refuse external pressures and diktats."
