Hind Rajab’s film premiere receives over 20 minutes of standing ovation
At its Venice Film Festival premiere, The Voice of Hind Rajab received a standing ovation that lasted over 20 minutes, the longest of the festival so far. Audience members waved multiple Palestinian flags and echoed chants of “Free Palestine” during the applause. Executive producers Joaquin Phoenix, who was wearing an Artists for Ceasefire pin, and Rooney Mara attended the premiere, posing on the red carpet with the filmmaking team while holding a photo of Hind Rajab. The film tells the story of a 5-year-old Palestinian girl, Hind Rajab, who was killed by "Israel" at the beginning of its genocide against Gaza.
